Course Description

This course is an introduction to figure drawing and the development of technical skills to effectively model a human form in space through use of line, shape, and value. Students will study the figure through a combination of observations of a live model, expanded anatomical studies of the head, hands, and feet, and self-portraiture. Through creative problem solving with drawing media, students will enhance their technical skills, expand their artistic expression, and gain a deeper understanding of the figure as an expressive subject in visual art.
