Course Description
This course is the first of two courses designed to train students for a career in the fire service. The course covers firefighter health and safety, fire service history, professional ethics, customer service, and hazardous materials. The course also prepares students to take the Hazardous Materials First Responder Awareness and Operations Certification Test. This test is taken through the Arizona Center for Fire Service Excellence (AzCFSE) and is required for Firefighter I and II Certification.
