Course Description
This course is an overview of sociology focusing on its main perspectives, theories and research methods. Areas of emphasis include culture, socialization, social institutions, as well as patterns of social interaction within groups and organizations. The course also examines social inequity, deviance and crime, and the roles of race, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality in shaping social life.
