Forensic Science: Physical Evidence
Course Description
This course is an introduction to the basic concepts of physical science and their application to forensic science, including the scientific examination, comparison, and analysis of physical evidence for forensic purposes. Topics include the role of forensic science and evidence analysis as they relate to fingerprints, shoe prints, tool marks, glass, soil and mineral evidence, firearms identification, paint chips, and arson and explosive evidence. The course also examines the history of forensic science, functions of the crime lab, and criminalist career specialties.
